Dynaco A25s bass performance

Hi All,
I just picked up a rather nice pair of A25s and am somewhat surprised at the very mediocre bass performance. The upper bass and frequencies on up are great, but there is a 6db bump at 80/100hz and a very steep drop of 10db at 50hz. As can be expected, they are a little boomy and have very little low bass. Not what I was expecting from these 10" woofers. The woofers are the 6 screw star shape variety and appear pristine as does the rest of the speaker.
When I measured, they were on 18" stands and I tried a variety of distances from the front wall. Other ported or sealed speakers at the same location are fine.
Any ideas? Woofers or cabinet stuffing?
Peter

It sounds like a classic case of demagnetized drivers. Common with the A25. These speakers were highly susceptible to this when amplifiers of higher power levels than recommended (about 100 watts) were used, and the drivers were hit with a sharp low frequency transient. They can be remagnetized, but I have no idea who has the capability to do this.

Put them on the floor and tilt them up a little. Then try 4-5 inches off the floor. If these are not close to a boundary they will be thin as they are fairly flat down low, and with no filter there's no help with baffle step. Also, check to see if the stuffing is what and where it should be for the aperiodic vent.
Once you get them right, crank up some old live Allman Brothers. No I meant louder than that.
