Dual post auto battery

These three words (dual post battery) causes a lot of hits in the search function. So I ask, if I attached a trickel charger to a dual post battery and my T-amp to the other set of posts, would the battery serve as a filter for the power. I guess the question is do the posts connect before they go into the battery.

I know I could test it myself but I'm lazy and stupid., and its a slow day here at work.

Dual post is the same connection but meant for connecting two different utilities, due to the need for the cable size.
