Is there any replacement for the CS8420 that will drop in to the DCX2496 to resolve the buggy issues and have improved sound quality?
Hi Sendler,
Of many mods to my DCX, one was replace the stock CS8420 with the CS8416..
It's not quite a drop in though! You can buy the CS8416, improved clock, and low noise CS8416/Clock power supply ALL on a single board that you solder in place with a special adapter after removing the original CS8420 (There are a couple of other surrounding components you need to remove too)..
Hope this helps..
Cheers

New chip?
I have an Oettle clock assembled but haven't installed it yet. I was hoping that Cirrus had come up with a drop in replacement for the iffy CS8420 which would obviously be much cheaper and easier to do.
