Hi Gents,
I was surfing the web & I notice prices for example 10 inch once goes anywhere from $25 to $250. I'm aware of their function but why such a vast difference in pricing ? If I'm using a FR/WR speaker with paper cone, would choosing a PR with paper cone be more appropriate ?
Thks Gents

Any thing you do the the speaker alone, will change the bass response. Personally I'm fanatic of Karlson's and I have 3 of them. They sound fine, loud, and their appearance is enjoyable.
when it comes to pricing there's a multitude of variables... buyer beware!Hi Gents,

would it behave as predictably as a purpose built one?If I'm using a FR/WR speaker with paper cone, would choosing a PR with paper cone be more appropriate ?
on the cheap i've experimented with cheap 6 inch PM speakers and a 100 ohm pot for variable damping control, that and a little added mass for tuning is loads of fun!
I read him using a paper PR with his paper WR driver. Nothing about it not being purpose made.
To answer your question sumotan, yes paper with paper is just fine. It's how most of the world does it.
