Do you think this cabinet restrict air flow

I plan to build Troels TJL using this cabinet that I thought would reduce internal resonance.

My concern is that it might not provide enough space behind the driver for it to breath. The dimension of the opening is 150mm. The width of the back is 65mm. Depth is 240mm. Overall height is 960mm and the volume is about 26liters.

This is a two way using Seas W18E and Aurum Cantus ribon tweeter.

I dunno. Maybe it would, maybe it won't.

I've built two pairs of speakers based on other people plans, and to be honest and I made a significant deviation on both of them. 1 turned out better, the other turned out worse.

With any kind of deviations, you're adding extra variables. It could turn out great, but if it doesn't, you are left scratching your head.

Moreover, the designer will try to help, but there's only so much he/she can do.

Stick to the design. One less thing to worry about.

Did you end up building the TJL? I remember reading some thread back then that you were planning to build one.

I had the cabinets built, but decided to scrap the project in favour of John Krutke's SEAS All Metal System.

You can view my thoughts on this over at my website. But in short, I'm a cheapskate.

In all honesty, getting the W18E001 and JP3 drivers in or into Australia represents a substantial sum.

Now the drivers themselves are very good, but not such great value in a 2 way, at least in comparison to the Acapella LWJ.
For a bit more money I could have a 3 way, with better bass, higher sensitivity, and an open midrange! But as you know, these cabinets are a real challenge.

Which brought me back to square one- the simple box floorstander: TJL.

As you've just built a Acapella SE, my guess is that my rant is not helping much. But a few things I can is that you move them into a larger room, experiment with stuffing (as close as possible to Troels materials and methods). If that doesn't help, then you might have to get correctly sized cabinets built.

The W18EX001 and JP3/G2si are workable in Jim Salk's bookshelf. Perhaps you could investigate pricing for the cabinet/crossover deisgn, sans drivers.
