DIY Subwoofer Amplifier

I want to build an audiophile grade 300-500W Class A/B mono power amplifier to power a passive 8 Ohm 12" subwoofer. I do not want to use a plate amplifier but rather build a stand alone power amp. The "honey-badger" would be a great option except it is limited to 150W @ 8 Ohms. I also do not want to use a digital amplifier design. Any suggestions?

If you run the Badger with the largest (highest SOA) outputs and a 35-0-35 trafo (47V DC) , you can easily get 250W out of the Badger.
The Wolverine 4X board with MT-200 Sankens can push 400W/ 8R , it has a EF3 - better for Bass.

Oh , "ARC WELDER" , I know a guy that runs a pair of KW 21" subs with two of these mono blocks. each one has 100Kuf
and 1K VA toroids.
