hi everyone,
I have been very interested in so many DIY projects for many years but have always found the best plans use drivers and all sorts of parts only available on the UK.
being an aspiring entrepreneur it has made some gears turn in my head
to those of you in the us and Canada and surrounding area, would an online store specializing in import loudspeaker and amplifier be of serious interest to you?
I'm trying to get a feel if this is something worthwhile pursuing and asking more questions about
regards
Grant

Grant,
That is a bit at odds with the comments from the guys in the UK who complain that so much of the good stuff is more available, only available, or cheaper (even with shipping) from North America.
Do you have any specific examples?
dave
I don't have any specific examples right this second but P.Audio, Void, Fane brands to name a few. I will get back to you with specifics.
Thank you for the input!

Hi,
Yes, there is hardly anything made in the UK any more,
that isn't very expensive, and disagree that the "best plans
use drivers and all sorts of parts only available on the UK".
Parts availability in the UK is poor and expensive.
rgds, sreten.

well thanks for the words of wisdom. I have just seen so many plans listing drivers not available in NA I was under the assumption they were superior.
way to clear things up 🙂

Between Solen, CSS, Parts Express & Madisound, most of the DIY speaker builders I know have had no problem acquiring from a wide range of driver makes and models.
As Dave inquired - any specific examples come to mind?

Some that come to find are the Prec Devices PD186, PD1850, Void V18-1000, Eighteen Sound 15ND930, P Audio SN-10MB
Not budget drivers then - it could be a risky enterprise to represent or stock such product lines.
Have you done much import / exporting before? It might not be quite as easy as you think.

That's putting it Very mildly.... we even get a bum deal from mainland EU.Parts availability in the UK is poor and expensive.
And people still wonder why we (UK) moan!
