David’s Basment rooom setup DIY progress

Staring to re do my basement. My room from 3 sides is all concrete and back opens up to 2 closets in the back and side room that’s being used as a storage . My main goal is to limit vibrations and to remove room effect es much as possible. For base I decided not to fight it and keep rear closets and extra room to act as additional sound capture , closets will have mineral wool . I’ll post progress and pics as I go with questions .

1 . Removed unneeded from hvac wand used 3 boxes of automotive sound defending to cover duct . Huge difference .
2 . next I’ll be using MLV and drywall to isolate side that opens up to heater and ac room

I lm debating what material to use between 2 layers of drywall. My main requirement to reduce vibration generated by music I don’t care about outside noice since those walls are backed by concrete .
1 use green glue between drywall
2 . Use MLV
3. Notices some used silicon .

Sure buddy , this is what I got on Amazon . It’s all on prep work that will reward you later .
This is what I got for deadening ducts , will use same for lights , basically if you have anything metal that might rattle this would take care , worked really good . One tip power on heat to warm up ducts it will make product application simpler

For 3 walls I decided to
1. Remove 1/2 old drywall and install mineral wool on top of exiting insulation .
2. 2X layers of 3/4 Fire resistant drywall will be installed with GG compound in between.
debating if I should add MLV on top of insulation before installing first layer of drywall .
@ Menards
. Will post pics once installed .

Slow progress but cooking 4 x 15 Ft oyaide solid core 10 gage power runs , clean power and dedicated in wall hi quality cable is very important. My power box is 10 Ft away from my hifi equipment. Cooking new cables using my fridge while I’m working on a room . This is one of the best in wall power cables for the $ you can get . I have 3 dedicated runs just for my 2 Chanel plus 2 more for HT
