What do you think about Kuzman's new PE designs?
Magna cum laude
I've been looking for a design like this for years, any more knowledgeable than me care to comment/criticize this design?

I think this is a good project for the budget , it would play fairly loud(perhaps not very loud because of the midrange). I very much doubt it will 'easily' handle 300watts per channel.
His other project the blue wonder is one of the best projects I seen. Its relative simplicity, very high SPL and low distortion.
Although I wonder why he didnt use a first order crossover for the 18"woofer/8"midrange.
I also probably prefer a 10" midrange covering 200-2 instead of an 8 covering 400-2.2.

Party speaker for sure, but maybe a really good one.
I have that Tang Band 6.5" as the low end of my 2 way system (2 per side). A very good mid, indeed. With the help of the Dayton 12s on the bottom, it ought to sound very good.
I also use a horn tweeter, the Selenium D210Ti on a BBC horn. Works well with the TB W6-789. Only trouble is that the horn+ compression driver is a good bit deeper than the 6.5", so getting them in phase is tricky. Don't know if Darren addressed that in his crossover.
Edit. Oops, sorry. It's the Blue Wonder that has the horn tweet.
The Blue Wonder looks cool, too.
Both were discussed quite a bit in the "never ending thread" How should I wire my 1500 watt speakers?
You should be able to find the posts you want if you are clever with the search.
Don't forget to search for both projects on the Parts Express Forum!
