Hi all,
I was curious if anyone knows anything about this dac? I got a pcb but need to find a decent bill of materials.
PCB TDA1541 / TDA1541A ( CS8412 / CS8414 + SAA7220) - eBay (item 280328167007 end time Nov-19-10 06:45:12 PST)
Thanks,
Nick

HI,
I have 2 of these and one is still not working after more than a year , but the seller is helpfull.
If I were you I would look at digikey, also some ebay sellers have nice custom clocks you can implement to the dac.
I currently have 4 boards of experimental i/v stages because the weak point of this dac is the opamp output stage which is the same design as 90's cd players , and it is not a sastifying one ...

Thanks for the info, I will remember that. I thought the opamp was going to be a problem. I want to try and use a lme49990 from national.

Low Jitter clock to upgrade Cd player Usb to spdif dac - eBay (item 220476467930 end time Nov-29-10 06:51:53 PST)
I put a good quality oscillator from the same vendor. ,
Also for your information I am very proud of the regulators (ska miniregs + dexa ) and the custom input transformer. I messed the job with the two regulators for the opamps so I temporally use the LM317 ,anyways this opamp stage is soon bypassed with discrete transistors. You noticed the stack of capacitors (4) in green, its because I didnt had the right value of .22,

Any news for you?
On my side I completed the akm4393 , akm4396 and pcm56p-k dacs!!!
I have 3 tda1541 dac full of issues. But now there is no going back!!!
All of them use tube output and the akm4396 is the winner for high frequency purity, pcm56p-k wins for liveliness and true timbre.
