I was recapping the Cyrus II. The PCB slipped, fell a couple of inches and those awful speaker binding posts struck the metal chassis. 😱
I switched on the amp and there was a loud buzzing sound. I desoldered / resoldered the four silver speaker binding posts on the PCB and now there is no noise whatsover. I have sound from both speakers but it is unfocussed - vocals aren't clearly defined in center of the speakers like before.
I am a complete novice / don't have a scope, etc. Can someone kindly guide me?
PS. I tried to remove the speaker binding posts after desoldering them but failed. If someone did this kindly explain how and if there are better short posts that, for example, bolt to the PCB.
Many thanks!
