I'm trying to fix the power supply of a crown xti (service manual here (link valid for 2 weeks, happy to share after that though)). I'm a bit out of my depth. I think its the control mechanism that's damaged in some way. It appears to be a self powering comparator circuit that supplies a kickstart voltage to start the SMPS. But I don't really understand what's going on well enough to fix it.
Can anybody help? The schematic is on page 75. Operation description is page 25.
