Its cheaper and easier to replace the now deep fried smps with a toroid transformer, a bridge rectifier and two 10000µF or higher caps with the right voltage rating.
crown XLS 1500 110v plugged on 220 now dead
I thought Crown XLS DriveCore series amps are equipped with SMPS capable of accepting all the voltages and frequencies around the world (similar to a laptop computer power supply)? See the back panel page 7 on the operation manual. Unfortunately 220V ~ 60 Hz (which is the voltage & frequency in the Philippines) is not included, maybe Crown should take this into account for products going to the Philippines. 🙁
I want to use this crown XLS 1500 in Australia 240 v/ 50 hz and the amplifier is set to USA 120/60 hz.
Any ideas pls.

I can't spot a reference to XLS1500 on the Crown support website for discontinued amplifiers. Assuming it is a switchmode supply, it should be possible to have this checked for resetting or modification to a 240V supply. This could be expensive but otherwise, you are stuck with using a huge step-down transformer. Crown ought to able to assist there through local service agencies. Good luck.
