I've stumbled upon a 'barn find' whereby the grandchildren have to clear Grandpas garage.
Inside was a 'huge' pair of 3-way Corals (H1m x W65cm x D50cm) :
components are: tweeters MHD-55, mids 6M-50 woofers 12L-50 plus NT-300 3-way dividing network.
At the price they were being sold, I though why not. I can't find a kit that composed of these drivers, and the cabinets are definately DIY.
Anyone ever seen this combination before?
I have just one small problem before the restoration begins. One of the mids is missing! I think it's going to be very difficult to find a replacement.
They do come up occasionally, but in reality, they're "hens teeth"
There is very little info, but I have found a spec. sheet.
I'm not a purist, so keeping it all 'Coral', although preferred, it's not essential.
After a bit of searching I've found these? They seem to be close to what is required? Eighteen Sound 6ND410 16 Ohm 6″ 180W Loudspeaker
If anyone has knowledge of late 60's Corals, and/or could recommend what I do about this missing mid, it would be greatly appreciated.
I usually spend my time over on AK, but these being a 'kit' / DIY, I thought I'd post here too.
and by the way, the Grandpa used a 6CX-501 as the temporary fill-in mid!!
