convert X.5 into XA.5, possible?

By looking at my own X350.5 internals compares to online XA series photos, I believe they have exactly the same circuit? Only different is bias.

So I am thinking is it doable that I reduce the rail to 1/2 to 25V(need to find a proper way), or remove half of output MSFETs(not a good approach), and then double the bias, essentially I can covert my X350.5 into XA60.5 or even better XA100.5 (or something between 60-80W class A only).

X350.5 (2CH) power consumption is 600W idle, XA100.5 is 300W per CH, so at least I think the chase/heat sink has no problem handle the conversion.

I got my first Pass amp from Reno Hifi long time ago. But I don't live in USA right now, trade in is not an option. Sell it and re-buy a new one cost a bit too much and wife gonna kill me for sure (new amp is only a month old, 🙂)

Frankly I think X350.5 is already good for me, but I am thinking maybe I don't really need that much watts and I do hear difference when the needle moves now, by going into AB, so I really want a bit more of class A, it's sweeter...

Maybe another option is to attach more heat sinks and increase some bias, it will be ugly, very.😡

it is doable ( still needing some time to deduce to which exact type to convert) , but information needed are PL IP .

if you sell it , which SH XA.5 you can buy ?

tried to call Reno HiFi ?
