I would just use 4 strands and evenly distribute it as 60 turns.

This may work for a ferrite core. If you manage to cut cleanly through a mains frequency toroid core please take some pics 🙂
Ferrite is very brittle - the scoring probably has to be done with something very hard like a diamond tipped scorer? The cutting part with laminated iron I reckon is a walk in the park compared to cutting ferrite - problems occur rapidly after the cutting is done when the laminations won't stay together...🙂
