hello all this is for my brother who has just brought a second hand chord cpm2600. witch looks wonderful but the sound is very quite on high volume. he is having to put the amp upto 60-70 to get a reasonable sound level witch is still not great. he is using chord silver bi wire cables leema cd player and leema xone one speaker. the remote seems to be a universal remote. he is so upset on how much he has just paid. and it seems the amp is crap.... is there any setting he need to-do on the remote. to set the volume higher. cheer all lee

CPM 2600 is a very serious bit of gear - too serious to think about popping the lid and having a fiddle without a schematic and a clear idea of exaxctly how it should operate.
As this is a recent purchase, you should in the first instance take this up with the seller. At least download the user manual from the net and follow proper directions. If it was sold with a generic or programmble remote, it may not even be correctly programmed (other than for a quick sale).
