Having just bought a Charlize 2 (diyparadise.com) I'm experiencing a huge amount of HISS when the amp and the source are connected to the same mains ring.
At the moment I'm running a huge extension cord upstairs which is far from ideal!
Is a ground loop isolation transformer a potential solution?
Regards,
Ian

Sorry code, the only way to stop it is to have completely isolated grounds, I put my source on a battery to achieve this.
Isolation transformer? no idea if it will work but I'm sure someone will be able to comment.

Or disconnect the mains ground from the two switching supplies. You should then connect the mains ground to the chassis for safety reasons, making sure the supplies/amps grounds are isolated from the chassis.
