cd player upgrade

my sony cdp-491 died on me the other day. time to upgade but i dont know what to buy!any suggestions on what to buy? money is definatly an isue i believe i just want a single tray player <--usually sounds better i think.
any help would be great............shallenn

A Sony XB-930 is a good choice an quite cheep.
It features a fixed pick up mechanism and the D/A chips are balanced. A real bargain!

Hi all,

Please, try the Yamaha CDX-396 or, if you have budget, the Yamaha CDX-596.

The internal build are excelent, have a AC filter, the 596 have display off and, with the good build, are a very good basis for tweak.

There is a Sony DVD (NS500V?) that is supposed to be a righteous CD player as well...
