I'm about to replace the 2x2200uF 50V (circled in the schematic) as one of them looks bulged.
What are these caps used for and your advise on what type would be a good replacement.
Do these caps affect the sonic characteristics of the amp?

Those circled in the schematic is 22uF 80V caps 
They are a part of the regulated Power Supply for the Input circuit, and you can use ordinary good standard caps for that 🙂

NAD needs to hire a different schematic drawer. The ones I've seen have been really messy, much like this one.
C748 and C749 are 2200uF 50V. They are input filtering caps for subsequent regulators and will not affect sound. The usual industrial quality parts are ok here - Nichicon, Panasonic, United Chemicon etc. I might go up to 63V rating if it would fit well on the board.
