Capacitors for the Leach ?

The Leach amps needs 2x11 film 0.1uF, 7 at 100V and 4 at 50V.

My local dealer has some nice WIMA rated 630V but asks $2.25 each !! 😱 :dead:

Parts Express has these Daytons rated 400V for 79 cents each. With overseas fast airmail and I still get away 2 times cheaper.

Any reason why i shouldnt use them instead of those over-expensive WIMAs I get loco ? Thanks.

Not on point with your question, but the Leach amp provides for two series connected electrolytic caps in the feedback. Leach says to use either one non-polar or two polars connected in series. Based on the series "Capacitor Sound" last year in Electronics World, using series connected non-polars instead of polars should offer the lowest distortion over the other two alternatives. Also, the silver micas specified might be better replaced by class 1 ceramics (NPOs). They have a more robust lead connection to dielectric than micas, and have very low distortion.
