I am wondering if members know of any free software to design basic cabinets along with cut lists. A member at another forum wants to build a cabinet of a specific internal volume and needs a cut list to have panel sections cut for him. Is there any basic wood working software or share ware that will do this for him? Personally I think a small custom cabinet shop in need of a mornings work would be the best solution but that's not my call. Thank you for any direction regarding this. thank you for any assistance. Jay Butterman was working on an excell tool as well (which is very nice) but I'm not sure if he has released it yet or not, as there was a problem with some excell ecentricities with respect to the solver addin.

Boxsim generates a cut list. It generates panels based on an easy assembly order more than the aesthetics of the box. Not a worry if you're veneering or painting.

The program that I put together that Wintermute was referring to has some issues due to excel so I could not really release it publically. I would be happy to provide you with a copy and could try to explain how to get through those issues, if you would like. It does provide a cut list and can do wedged (i.e. curved) fronts or just a plain box, as well. Boxycad is still around on the net and provides a cut list for simple box designs.

I think I know a pretty good web app Online 3D Kitchen Constructor. My brother owns a small cabinet shop and he uses this software. I've also tried it for my kitchen project. There you can create a catalogue of your own cabinets and other additional items for your customers. It can be integrated with accounting software, so price calculation is possible to.
