Building a bang4buck Stereo Hypex UcD400st amp in Australia

This might be of interest to Australian DIY amp builders.

I have just built a Stereo Hypex UcD400st amp using all Australian electronics suppliers (except for the UcD400 modules that I got direct from Hypex), you might want to check with John Woodhead the Australian Hypex supplier first though http://www.aranmaracoustics.com.au/index.html. He might have some better prices.

The amp took me around 3 days to build and cost AUD$810

Anyway, here are some pictures, at the end is a bill of materials with all the parts numbers and suppliers:

I don't work for any of the suppliers, just trying to show a value for money way to build a very good amp for a reasonable price in Australia.

cheers,
merry xmas.

Protection Circuit

Are you using any DC protection circuit for this?
I am looking for a simple DC protection circuit that I can use on my 4 channel UCD 400 system. Im currently using an Altronics one with the HF and the AC sensing disabled but it is too sensitive and cant be easily adjusted without cutting traces etc. Its also a large board - too large. Rod Eliots project 33 is one option but I still need to mount the relays on another board and this one is mono I believe.
Any good ideas?
Derick.
