I'm an audio engineer, but somehow I've become an half arsed EE. I can fix, mod, and build electrical equipment, mostly because I've had to, but i have really no understanding of how it works, so when i run into an unexpected problem, I'm lost in the woods. I want to start a stereo amplifier build for some new speakers i've designed, but I'm worried my ignorance could fry my components, or worse!
Can someone recommend books that will enlighten to the magical ways of audio/PSU circuit design and allow me to create my own amplifier?

Horowitz and Hill is one of the standard texts, and more readable/practical than many.

It wouldn't hurt to look at: ESP Amplifier Basics - How Audio Amps Work
As regards worrying that your ignorance will fry your components...
...don't worry, it will. If it doesn't, there's no justice.
