I am intrigued by the bipole concept and I am thinking about these FE127 ones. Do bipole drivers need to be back to back? Can I have front/top, front/side?
To function as designed, they need to be front/back.
That is because the rearward speaker compensates exactly for baffle step losses. Also, the direct physical coupling of the two drivers adds structural integrity.
