Hi all,
Im new to the forum but in the middle of aquiring my first projection kit. I currently have a tft 8000 which was free and was woindering if I could modify a projector to fit the 18" panel.
Money isn't really a problem, I was guessing I need to buy a
larger fresnal lense and maybe a new projector lense. I would like to run the whole setup at 1280x1024 res.
Any hints?

ok, i think i see what you mean, but the problem you may face more is your 18" panel coming off the sides of the projector and not all the image being projected. Most projectors have a around 14.8 diameter on top which is why a 15" panel is the max we use.
I think you would have to completely rebuild the projector to use it, another option may be to build a box type projector, which (in a nutshell) is a box with the light bulb shining behind the 18" screen in the box and the right fresnell lens built to the end of the box. But I do not know as much about box type designs www.lumenlab.com would be best for that though you do have to pay. Things can become pretty compllicated with box type designs if you feel up to it, but it may be easier to buy a cheap 15" or 14" tft monitor and use that if you have a little bit of money. These are especially cheap if the back light has broken on them.
