I'm repairing/rebuliding this NAK PA7MKII. This has been a difficult repair so far with some very unusual failures. The bias pot is very flaky and needs replacement. It's a 1k pot. I heard there are better pots than factory for this. I don't really want to go with a huge rotary pot that has to be custom mounted but would like to stay close in size to original. Any reccomendations?
Regarding unusal failures-In addition to shorted transistors I had a couple of partially shorted resistors-(not open) and a film cap that was breaking down under load. I may also need dc ofset pot but I'ts not even in service manual but just has a 51k resistor where pot was. Not sure if mine is earlier or later version(Mine has the DC ofset pot).
