I'm wondering which of the 4 channel boards has the best sound quality and is the best option for use in a bi-amp system using an active crossover?
I have a 41hz AMP-9-Basic using the Tripath TAA-4100a but the signal/noise is not good enough for home HiFi (tweeter hiss).
There are a few options on the market but I can't find if anyone has done any comparisons. Disappointingly, none of the 4 channel boards has speaker protection.
Maybe some DIYers have used the amps separately and care to comment? Maybe, we can compare in here.
Important Factors:
1. Signal to Noise ratio due to separate channels being dedicated to the HF.
2. Must be able to connect the ground on all 4 channels as this happens on the Active crossover board when you plug in the first RCA.
3. Single ended power, running off one of the Meanwell "brick SMPS".
4. Bang4Buck, otherwise might as well get 2 seperate 2 channel amps.
