Afternoon chaps,
This is my first attempt to do any DIY audio and it's got off to a terrible start.
I purchased one of the super-cheap TA2024 boards from ebay (like Arjen Helders but from the UK).
I've hooked it up directly to some speakers which measure 7.2 Ohms on the multimeter.
It's connected to a 12v SLA battery which I've just charged and is running about 12.5V, and connected it to my phone (Galaxy S2), tape-out from my hifi receiver, and my Raspberry Pi, and my TV's headphone out.
None of these seem to be working to power it- If I listen VERY closely I can hear that it is playing the music, but we're talking about so quiet that the slight hum from the speakers drowns it out.
Have I done something completely wrong, or is it a broken board?
(The speakers are tannoy mid-bass 5" cones or Sony 6" cones).
I have checked the polarity which is correct.

A quick continuity test revealed I had plugged my source into the wrong socket.
Quickly solved!
I'm surprised how powerful the little amp is- it can certainly push the speakers to their limits!
Do these work okay with Piezo tweeters?
Is there an equivalent-ly cheap crossover I can use for a super low-cost setup?
Thanks!
