I'm adding a DC power supply plug to a DAC I'm making. Which size is the most common?
I've seen Outer Diameter = 5.5mm and Pin Diameter = 2.1 - 2.5mm. My Graham Slee Ultra Linear PSU seems to be using 5.5mm and 2.5mm, but I have heard of other sizes being common, too.
Thanks,
Børge

There are both 2.1mm and 2.5mm pin diameters and my impression is that one isn't really more standard than the other. Best advice is either to make your own standard (if you are building) and/or buy some extra plugs and sockets to create short 10-15cm "pigtail" adapters if you need them.
Thanks,
At least I found barrel connector that fit on the same footprint, CUI
PJ-002AH - 2.1 x 5.5mm
PJ-002B - 2.5 x 5.5mm

I just looked on digikey and it seems they stock a wide variety of both types and have depth of stock on both. Probably does not matter.
I'll only be making one end of the cable. Others will be free to fit whatever PSU they have lying around. Therefore I'd like to make it maximally compatible. I'll start out with the one that fits my Graham Slee power here and let others swap out the receptacle if they have to
