Well, I had a very nice prototype Eclipse 10" aluminum cone sub in my car until recently, when it got stolen. I've got a great sounding car system, but I need a new sub and I'm trying to decide on something good that is either 10-12" and max $200. I've been looking at these for the moment:

I know the soundstream has a good rep to my knowledge, but the 12" DVC sub also looks like a great deal. My enclosure size is limited to about a max of 1-1.5 cubic feet however. Might any of you have an opinion on these subs or be able to suggest another fitting the criteria? For sound I'm looking for good output but still clear, with deep bass extension and good crisp impact on the lows. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! 🙂

I'd recommend an Ascnedant Audio Avalanche 12" for $200 USD +tax+shipping, but you'll be on back order for a month or two if you do choose that driver. I'd assume with only 1.5ft^3 you are going with a sealed box. Specs for the driver, and a lovely picture of it is available here, so you can simulate it in WinISD.
Soundstream makes decent subs, but from what I have read that big cheap 12" buyout driver (your second link, not the Soundstream) only looks good on paper (er...screen). The sound quality it produces it quite poor.

I would try looking around at some car audio forums like forum.elitecaraudio.com for some ideas as there are a lot of subs that would probably fill your criteria.
