Would the Heathkit Sine-Square Audio Generator Model IG-18 be good for testing TS Parameters for drivers? Or.............is there a better alternative?
there are several loudspeaker measurement programs available and range in price from "free" to 2K+. Most of the less costly versions still require a "jig" for measurement.
Above software along with the sound card of my laptop PC + a digital tester, allowed me to make several useful test in order to determine T-S parameters. The accuraccy of the signal will depend of course of the quality of the sound card used.
I think its worth a try.
Good luck!
Try to search for max 038 schematic, it' s an ic from maxim thath have all the features you need: sq,tr,sin, form 0.1 Hz to 10 Mhz, pll out and some other features.
Also, you can order free samples http://www.maxim-ic.com/
You need only to add an output buffer, I don' t remember where the shematic is, buy I saw it, if I will found I' ll post the link.
OooooPS... just found http://www.web-ee.com/Schematics/Function Generator/function generator.htm
If you want to make a good measure, for first you need to "use" the loudspeaker, personally I use a small (6 V ac out) transformer connected to the speaker for 8/10 hours, you' ll have a better realistic measure.
I hope this will help.
