Go to Jaycar link, look at their new drivers, then compare with HiVi from PartsExpress !!!
They also have some poly versions that PE doesn't appear to have.

PS, also check page 4 of new stuff.
I should also add, that the yellow ones come boxed with response charts etc

PS, Jaycar also have one of the Isodynamic tweeters, which doesn't seem to match anything on the PE HiVi page, and the tweeter pictured below, which I thought was also a HiVi tweet.

Typical of the sloppy attitude and poor customer service lately

Yeah, the black ones seem to be a cheaper line and have been out for several weeks, and are somewhat lacking in information.
I looked in the boxes for the more expensive drivers, and all the info seems to be on the leaflet.

I went in and purchased one of the 10" kevlar/paper yellow cone drivers today.
They're basically a direct rip off the dynaudio 30w100, they even slot into the same screw holes.
They're still wearing it in but i'll do a comparison to an original 30w100 as soon as they're worn in.

How'd you even discover those speakers on the Jaycar site?
I go to Speakers and Audio and then select HiFi Woofers but then there's only a much smaller selection of drivers, none of which are these new ones.

Quite simple really. I was informed of the existance and given all the product code numbers by the local Jaycar guy, who happens to be a friend of mine.
Also, on the home page, there is a NEW Products section, which lists all of the new products which haven't been slotted into the main catalog yet.

Another thing you guys might want to be aware of is that the 10" kevlar paper cone woofers (the dynaudio copies) are mispriced on their website.
When I went into jaycar, the 10" woofers are priced at $150aud in their system, they had to ring the manager to be able to sell them to me at the $120aud price advertised on the website.
If anyone is planning on buying the 10" then it might be a good idea to do so before they update their price on the website.

Qts of 0.44 in 10" unit ... not bad OB candidate, shame Xmax is only 8.3mm. I wonder how quiet it is in open baffle ?
I now have photocopies of the data sheets for the more expensive new Jaycar drivers.
I will get around to scanning them soon, maybe if someone wants a particular one, it might get me a round tuit faster.
ps , not the best quality photocopies though.

Hi Andy,
Great find. It's a shame that Jaycar don't give the Hi-Vi models numbers.
Hi-Vi have such an extensive product range, it's hard to know which model is which...
I for one would like to get my paws on the Hi-Vi B3S...

Darcher lists them, about 18 bucks ...

I've compiled a list of Jaycar driver cat numbers and the HiVi models they appear to correspond to(based on shared specs and visual likeness):
Jaycar 25mm CT2009 Dome Tweeter is the Hi-Vi K1 Tweeter:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CT2009
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=30
Jaycar 4" CW2151 High-End Woofer/Midrange Driver is the Hi-Vi B4N:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CW2151
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=53
Jaycar 5" CW2152 High-End Woofer/Midrange Driver is the Hi-Vi D5G:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CW2152
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=61
Jaycar 6.5" CW2154 High-End Woofer/Mid is the Hi-Vi D6G:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CW2154
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=62
Jaycar 8" CW2156 High-End Woofer is probably(slight variations in specs) the Hi-Vi D8G:
http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CW2156
http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=63
I'm no expert on drivers, but looking over the frequency response I see large abrupt humps in the low khz range for most of these. Does this suggest serious problems? Are any of them reasonable drivers? If necessary would some sort of filtering be able to whip them into shape?
If anyone has identified other drivers from Jaycar, or has further specs, please add the info here.
Andy what specs do you have? I'd especially like more detailed info on the new "Response" branded paper cones.

Prices are still a little high, are Jaycar still doing discounts for 10 units or more, perhaps a group buy of interested members in each capital ciy??
just an idea,
EDIT I am only interested in bass at this time and more interested in sealed boxes so at thic pricepoint it's not for me

Or you could always just ask another supplier in the country for pricing on the items you are after. From last check I know where I can get them a lot cheaper than Jaycar.

They still do about a 20% discount for 10 or more.
I use the 10" versions and theyre great for bass but seem to have nasty cone resonances above ~150hz. I've tried them in a sealed and ported 75liter box and they definitely sound much better in a ported box.
The only bad thing ive got to say about these drive units is the sloppy gluing around the surround/former. It looks/feels like a thick dose of hot glue from a glue gun which has me worried if the voice coil temps may cause the glue to come loose.
Ive been running mine for about 3 weeks now upto 12 hours straight on some days nearing max excursion and it has yet to fail though.
