Hi to you all, I've just joined - you seem like a friendly lot! I recently bought an Ariston Q Deck which is in very nice nick. The problem is that it revolves at about twice the correct speed causing JJ Cale to sound like Pinky & Perky. The deck is 12V 350mA. I have tried reversing the polarity on the adapter but this makes it go anticlockwise but just as fast.
The belt appears ok and there was no observed wow and flutter. In other words it was spinning at a uniformly higher speed with good timing.
If anyone has had this problem or knows something please drop us a line. It's quite a nice deck apart from this. It only appears to be one speed 33rpm as there is only one 'notch' on the pulley where you place the belt.

re Ariston
If you look closely on the front-left of the table you will see a small raised "bump".It is the speed button for the unit.Press this once and it will change speed. There are 2 speeds 33RPM and 45RPM.You are running at 45RPM at the moment. This is for singles and E.P's.The other speed is for L.P's.

Many thanks, the deck is in working order and sounds very good. I bought it as not working because of this, so I'm very grateful for your help! Quite a minimalist design!
