These things are very pricey. I can spend the money but how much better are they than say a piece of "small bubble" bubble wrap? Any opinions are appreciated.

Hello,
I have used Deflex pads quite a bit. I have made measurements while using the pads internally in speaker cabinents. They do next to nothing to reduce internal standing waves. I have found them useful for mass damping. They work OK in speaker cabinents for this, but I prefer to use them for metal chassis damping; here they work well. There are other loaded vinyl products on the market that may be more cost effective. I just happen to have bought alot of the Deflex pads when they first came on the market, and have more than enough of them for present and future projects!
