have a lovely pair of (AR) 7's...all except the cloth.
Q. how do you get into these things? from the back looks a definate no no.
free from my dad and owned from new, I have no reason to 'check' inside, as they sound lovely.
all I need is some advice on replacing the cloth, before I just hack off the original and can't see how to fit a replacement.

Early AR speakers had the grilles stapled onto the front. You can usually find the staples and pry them out with a small screwdriver. You can find vintage looking cloth at cloth specialists. Usually there is a low thread count open linen that matched the look.
Go to classicspeaker pages.net They specialize in early AR speakers. Search around there and you will find several threads on replacing the grilles.
