Anyone ever blown a speaker cable??!!??

Sorry for the caps and the ridiculous question but I'm stuck on solving a problem.

About to sell some speakers so thought I'd hook them up to check as the person is coming tomorrow.

right channel doesn't work - panic that I did my first bad refurb!

Swapped speakers around both speakers work fine on left channel.

Turned speaker switching unit to other room - both channels fine.

Wonder if it's a problem with switching unit channel for this room. Switch cables around on back of switching unit, again other room works fine this room right channel still bad on my normal speakers and the ones I'm selling.

Check right cable for signs of damage - none.

Write post here with ridiculous question..someone please help!!

If you have banna plugs or any kind of connector on the cable ends remove them and use the bare wire ends. Get an AA battery and connect it to the loudspeaker terminals with a piece of wire. Bass driver should move and you should hear an audible click. Connect one side of the speaker cable to the speaker and do the battery thing again, repeat with the other half of the speaker cable. When you identify the problem, repair replace the cable or connection. I did have an AB switch not work on one channel in one position. I also had a bad contact on one speaker and when I moved the driver to another amplifier all was fine. I thought my good amplifier was bad but it was a bad contact and when I disconnected and reconnected all was ok. When in a panic it's hard to think.

If the person is coming tomorrow, just get a piece of electrical cable and connect the speakers directly to the amp.
Then when he is away and the money is in Your pocket start hunting for the fault.
You already know the speakers work, and he doesn't need to know You have speakers on another rooms.
Or... Are You selling the speaker cables too ?
And.. Yes, sometimes doors & furniture feet damage cables.
One time one of my speakers weren't working and it was a speaker stand spike feet that was shorting the cable.
