Hi all,
i just wondering about piggybacking the PCM1704s to achieve more output current. Maybe some pins should not tie together or bypassed together with a cap? It would be wonderful if the master Pass himself can answer since the D1 24/96 is no more in production.

What do you mean, is it possible to piggyback the PCM1704? Has anyone tried it out?

Many thanks!!!

This means it to me that this there is piggybacked:
"For those that are not aware, the 24/96 version of the D1 uses a CS8414 receiver, DF1704 filter (yeah.....), and 8xPCM1704 DACs, followed by a fully balanced discrete I/V section."

Hi,
that phrase only tells that 8 pcm1704 is in use. It can be

option 1: the output of 2 pcm1704 are tied together (parallel)
option 2: all the pins of 2 pcm1704 are tied togehter (piggyback)

I want to know if option 2 is possible without damage.

This picture will not answer your questions, the last ones...
But it seems that they were not piggy style connected.
It is a poor picture, but ... one can see that 2 pieces 1704 were mounted to
some kind of adapter. Don't want to speculate any more.
