any ideas for a true swapping meet ?

No cash, no paypal, actual swapping of items.

I mean most of have stuff we have and want to get rid of.

Most of us want to play and try different stuff.

I believe only the first person can change what is in a thread.

What if we had an open thread where a poster can change their post all the way out ?

That way we could all look at each others junk and swap for a castle.

We can add more things and remove them also.................

times are rough now, covid, etc.
Most dare not spend any money at this time.

And most of us have stuff left over that we are done playing with and frankly are this close to tossing it into a dumpster.

I'm thinking of an actual swap, that way it isn't costing the budget or wallet anything to keep playing.

Shipping could be an issue.

ah, ok.
We usually take a huge hit on the resale of this diy stuff compared to bose, Klipsch, etc.
And shipping can be a huge factor.
Just sent a 15" x 16" x 24" from iowa to Columbus ohio, basically full of light stuff.
Cost $50.

maybe a true barter as a sticky ?

Moderators ?
Any ideas ?

Great idea but I believe shipping could be more expensive than the items being traded. It would work best with regional swaps where the items could be swapped in person. Maybe the sub-forum (?) could be set up for reasonable driving ranges, assuming the shut down ends.

This thread is about to wither and die. It sounds like some respondents don't realize you are already allowed to post barter threads. You have to have a specific ask if you want the mods to change settings or rules for your thread. I think your "ask" to the mods should be as small as possible: for instance, you can just ask the mods to allow waiver of the off-topic rule. So if the mods agree, you can just start off the thread posting some stuff for barter, and then somebody else can post their stuff, and the mods won't delete or move that to a seperate thread.
