Here is a circuit that turns on a 12V relay, "X" seconds after AC mains power is applied. The delay "X" is adjustable by a 20-turn trimmer potentiometer. You can select any delay you wish, between (X= 2 seconds) and (X= 40 seconds).
BEWARE: this circuit connects to the AC mains. It could kill you.
