Found a DX-7500 in a yard sale today. Paid $5 for it...
Cosmetically its in very good shape...I see ones like it selling for $300 elsewhere.
Plugged it in expecting issues...and there are some.
Transport needs lubing,...it doesn't open or close all the way without a little help... easy enough.
My question is around a clicking (relay?) sound coming from the mainboard and a Diode that goes off/on in response to the clicking. There are 2 of them on the MB (D104 & D106), and its the left one (D104) that goes off/on in time with the (what I will call a relay sound) relay click sound... In looking at the service manual, these diodes (FCNE-S-001G) are part of a Photo-Coupler circuit. I also notice that when the diode is lit, the CD is assumed being read (track counter is moving), with the click sound, the diode goes out and the track counter stops.
I'm trying to save myself some trouble shooting if anyone else has had this happen and know what the offending component(s) is/are. Is it an issue with Q124 (TLP5212GB) or the diode itself?....or something else?
I've attached some pics for reference. any help is appreciated!

The noise is actually coming from the 2 x relays on the power supply board. They are going on/off at random for some reason...

hi
I have the same issue.
did you find the problem? could it be the servo or the diode laser?

Io ho avuto lo stesso problema e l'ho appena risolto mediante la pulizia della lente e la calibrazione del laser (ho regolato con il trimmer la resistenza portandola da 930 ohm a 870 ohm)

Grazie.
