Amp Camp Amps for Bose 901 Series 1 & 2 ?

I sent an email and got a nice response back from Elena to ask my question here.

Can I use the Amp Camp Amp's with my Sealed Box Series 1 & 2 901's ? I've personally rebuilt the EQ's and have one EQ board per speaker confiugured in a true balanced (dual mono) configuration. L channel goes to the -ve pin on the XLR. R Channel goes to the +ve pin on the XLR and of course Chassis GND for the remaining pin.

Thanks (no Bose bashing please) in advance

I have been thinking of replacing the 9 1ohm speakers with 9 (5) 8 ohm full range and 4 8 ohm mid woofers and associated crossover to drive them all at 4 -5 ohm total load.
the impedance curve of driver units prevents these speakers from getting much power below 100 hz. eg 5 ohm Z at 70 hz = 45 ohm load at 70hz.
i would need to find a pair of 901's needing replacement speakers cheap.

The 901s weren’t designed to be efficient. Eight of the drivers were pointed at the wall behind the speakers and a single driver faced the listening position. My father had a pair of 901 mk. IV or V, as I recall. These were supposed to be more efficient than previous versions, but 50 Watts was the recommended minimum power for the amplifier. The weak point of the system was the equalizer, which was necessary to approximate a frequency response that was more appropriate for listening.
I’m afraid that even a pair of enhanced ACAs wouldn’t have the power to satisfactorily drive the speakers you have.
