Hi there everyone, i have a pair of alpair 7 speakers that i have been using in the frugal horn mk 3 cabinets, i was wondering if anyone has tried these in a fostex fe126en cabinet, maybe something like the unique back loaded bass reflex hybrid enclosure i have seen on madisonaudio or a similar fostex design, seeing as the frugal horn can use this speaker too. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

As in Madisound?
Fostex's Factory 126 box is rubbish. It has no redeeming features that I can recall.
FH3 was specifically intended to be relatively flexible in terms of drive units, although the default / baseline units were the 4in MA drivers (CHR, CHP, A7 etc.); this does not automatically apply to all enclosures though. As a rule, it's rarely a good idea to try stuffing a drive unit into a box designed for something else. If you want a small box for the Alpair 7, a simple BR will work fine.

Thank's Scott, for putting me straight on that one. The fh3 was my first speaker project of which i'm very proud of and had great fun making, i love the smooth and natural voice of these, but i just can't seem to adjust the bass to my liking. I suspect it has more to with my room then anything else.
