hey all,
with a cursory, at best, knowledge of the workings of my completed Aleph 5, and only a DMM for tools, can someone tell me how to calculate my delivered power into 4 ohm speakers? there was some talk on a thread a while ago about increasing this power, but i'm not sure what i'm pumpin' out.
thanks for any info,
scott

You can get as much as 90 into 4, but it's distorted.
If you want a clean 100 into 4 ohms, look to raise the
bias current about double.

What is the maximum Aleph 2 power into 4 ohms? Would I have to increase the bias current to run it at 4 ohms at max power?

Mr. Pass,
thanks for the reply. the reason i asked was that i can crank my tube preamp up to full power and the sound is GOOD!! and saw a thread discussing how in it's current form, the aleph 5 delivers about 40 watts into 4 ohms. i don't need more power, i was just curious how much power i WAS delivering to my speakers. it seems like enough though, cuz even at volumes that start to hurt my ears, it sounds clear and powerful. DAMN this is a great amp!!
thanks for the input,
cheers,
scott
