Hello, i nhave a pair of 9710 alnicos in very good shape.
I want to build the Akoestische box A5 around them.

The problem i will face is the internal absorbing "triangle" or "piramide"..
I don't know what material use to build it..I think it´s a good idea to fill the interior with wool ( i´ve seen old wool matresses for cheap), and to cover the exterior sides with wool too ( glued and bolted i guess....).

Any opinions on what to use....

i´ve seen one solution that seems to be better if filled with wool, but how i can maintaine it !!

Hi again.
i´ve used in the past a product that is called ¨lana de roca¨ ( rock wool), used to make sound insulation on cars, and buildings..
May be is a good replacement for glassfibre, and it´s stiff enough to mantain the shape you want.
I guess i´ll opt for this solution. Seems a nice one, without the problems of the glassfibre.
Here´s a funny video of what it looks like.

The problems with mineral wool in speakers is vastly overexposed. Just wear gloves and work outside. There is no problem with vented speakers since they never blow out without sucking in through the the same duct. Fibers will not have time to get out.
Mineral wool has a lot of advantages such as not deflating/compacting over time, being completely immune and even repellent of various critters and also being very shapeable.

My only gripe is that it's actually quite hard to obtain in formfactors and badges suited for DIY speakers, at least in Denmark.
