hello folks, got a little gem of a speaker here, rescued for an Aiwa home theater. model number stamped on magnet is above and I can find NOTHING on it save for the fact that it was originally installed in a TSw54 powered sub from various home theater kits from aiwa some years ago.

the sub is in great shape, the box was destroyed at some point and I'm wanting to put a very small project together using a Creative 100W amplifier for the computer speakers. Model number of the amp is not yet known and I don't want to trash the box it's currently in until i'm ready to go with this project. I need TS params for this sub and can't find them on the net. I called Aiwa...that got me NOTHING. so i'm back to square one.

it's an 8" sub, 200w rated at 8ohm and has what appears to be a fairly long xmax. the original speaker enclosure was a single port bandpass with a ridiculously short port and pretty small overall total volume. I'm not a big fan of bandpass subs and prefer the deep sound of a proper ported enclosure but since i'm working with a ported box it's pretty important to be as accurate as possible with the TS's.

I'm in pittsburgh - if anyone on this board has a woofer tester, i'd love to hang out and talk sound for a bit. I've got a deep background in car audio from YEARS ago and have forgotten much of what i knew...i want to get back into this and was looking to use this little project as my launching pad to get involved with making a set of decent full range floor speakers that will be paired up to a Sony receiver..that's for another day. I really just want to play with this sub a little and get the computer rocking with some deeper bass than what the Creative kit gives me.

Anyone possibly have TS's in a database someplace? I've checked bassbox and it's not in there. not sure where else to look 🙁

yeah, i can do google too...looking for good numbers. this guy is nowhere near me and that is not even close to the same sub...not being a jerk, just looking for something deeper than the obvious. I guess it's time to get out my abacus and multimeter. I long for the days that I still had my Fluke woofer tester...2 mins with that thing and i had enough TS info to make a decent ported enclosure 🙁
