Sorry to make such an lazy post, but I have run out of ideas for the next project.
What I am after is a floorstanding 2 way, to be mated to a Shiva or later on possibly a Tumult.
Size is not an issue, but I would like them to be decently loud, well, very damn loud!
I am prepared to forgoe a completely flat response for this.
Plans or a kit are great, as I can produce either, but a kit would be prefered due to time constraints.
So in summary
90db+
45hz->22khz
Musical tastes = alt rock, metal, alt general, emo, hip hop, punk etc etc, but believe it or not they have alot of vocal solos that require actual music ability!
I can get access to most products so there are no limits there.
Budget wise - upto $700 USD for drivers and XO.

Why don't you try the Loudspeaker Kit as it's in Melbourne. Look at these:

I am after something a little more "high end"

"real" high end speakers as kits are very rare and also very expensive.......suggestion : the complete orion project

oh, you said 2-way i thought you wanted "high end".....
perhaps a fostex fullrange and some upper bass/low midrange....?
Dont want to start any wars here but on my fostex fe-166e single driver full range horns my f3 is 48Hz(all i need or want) and extends to slightly better than 20KHz and has breathtaking dynamics , very tight powerful bass and tons of slam all with a pin point image. All driven with battery powered gainclones, no zoble, no filters, no crossovers.

Of course the down side is the shear size and weight (114 lbs/ea) of my horns.

It isn't easy to get an high efficient 2way which is reaching 45 Hz with the regular drivers. Most 2ways suffer from baffle-step problems, so the typical maximum efficiency is only 83-87dB/W/m, when you also want some low frequencies in your room.
So I would opt for a 2,5 way (the identical second woofer has to compensate the baffle step) with this setup in combination with reasonably efficient drivers (89-90db/w/m each) it is possible to get >90dB/W/m and get enough bass.
I've had a few customers in the past that sound like griff , they tell you they want high end sound, loud, but when they're presented with high end sound, they don't like it.
What they actually want, is a night club in their living room.
be carefull what you wish for...
