Hi all,
I am kind of a newbie and since I am interested in this DAC, I thought may be I could get some help from you. I am collecting the parts for this DAC at the moment but there are some parts I don't know where to buy them from.
The power supplies incorporate some common mode chokes but do you know the spec/values for these common mode chokes?
Then on the analogue section, 4pcs. of 75mH chokes are being used. I know Steinmusic of Germany sells these(85mH variable choke actually) according to their web page but I haven't been able to get any reply back from them after sending them a few enquiries. Other than from Steinmusic, where can I get these chokes from?
Many thanks,
Peter Sugano

according to the PS schematic, the chokes are 10mH/1A.. I built a dac that's based on the Adagio design and I'm using 10mH chokes that I picked up from my local electronics store.. I'm not even sure of the current handling but they work.
I also omitted the chokes in the analog stage. I don't think they're necessary.. In the newer schematic, 2 x 3.3mH chokes are used per channel instead of the 75mH ones.. I just used 25N mica caps for filtering..

Hi Sugano,
I built two Adagio DACs. As common mode chokes I used Roxburg Electronics CMV30, RS part n. 188-9090, whose cost, in Italy, is 4,01 EUR each. For the 75 mH inductances I used RM10 cores and about 400 turns of 0,2 mm wire; then I used an inductance meter to adjust for 75 mH. RM10 cores have RS part n. 228-258 and cost 5,89 EUR each.
The sound of the Adagio DAC is simply GREAT! (Thanks, Th!)
Have fun!
