They're what I call series. To me a shunt attenuator has a fixed series resistor and a variable shunt.

Tell me, what's the difference in terms of noise between a single 100k resistor and 10 10k resistors in series?

Those are the old version. Basically the same but the new version only has one wiper. The common on the new version uses a very flexible, finely stranded wire, eliminating one mechanical contact.
It's all moot now as I've sold them.
