A rare tube in my hands. Info please.

Hello,

I got my hands on, what it seems to be a rare tube of which I cannot find any information, even the socket type. Judging by the construction inside, it seems to be a mesh electrode voltage regulator tube. The socket is similar to the P8A, but 5 pin.

Looks like a neon, similar to the OA2 but older, maybe. There appear to be four connections to the base but I cannot see more than three electrodes.

Test it with a resistor in serial and see if it glows...

it seems you have a "GR 100 Z" from "Deutsche Glimmlampen GmbH, (DGL), Otto Pressler, Leipzig, Germany":

GR 100Z, Tube GR100Z; Röhre GR 100Z ID20165, Voltage Regulat

the socket is "Europe side contact, small, P5, Ct5"

this socket was established 1934 but your tube is probably from the early 1950's

Many thanks for the help! GR-25-14 comes closer to the my tube, because it has a third electrode.
